Edvantage group’s SaaS-based content authoring tool, CourseBuilder, has produced over 2,000 courses in the last nine months.

CourseBuilder is the preferred authoring tool for many organisations including the MoD, Insolvency Service, Electrolux, Volvo and Jotun.  By the end of 2009 the number of e-learning pages produced by clients exceeded 110,000.

“These figures demonstrate what a fantastic, scalable tool CourseBuilder is,” says Sven-Ove Sjølyst, Vice President CourseBuilder at Edvantage group. “Our customers are currently producing over 220 courses a month, totalling more than 7,000 pages a month, and we are expecting a further growth of 50-100% during 2010.”

One of the reasons for the rapid growth in the usage of CourseBuilder is several successful launches in 2009, including launch of CBVoice, an automatic tool to generate synthetic voiceovers in the courses, saving both time and money for our clients, and Accessibility features according to WAI WCAG 2.0 standard, which gives clients an opportunity to develop accessibility compliant content.

CourseBuilder statistics for 2009:
- Average of 1,230 hours spent  by clients in CourseBuilder per month
-  8,571 courses in total created and hosted in CourseBuilder
- Over 220,000 course pages created and hosted in CourseBuilder
- More than 350,000 media elements currently hosted in CourseBuilder

“CourseBuilder leverages the power of cloud computing in the learning space,” continues Sven-Ove Sjølyst. “When you need to develop business critical training to tens of thousands of employees in a short period of time, the last thing you want to worry about is the technology.  Unlike a traditional locally installed or hosted solution, the power and scalability is there for clients as and when they need it. It also gives our clients, and Edvantage group’s own in-house bespoke department, unique collaborative opportunities when developing high-end business critical e-learning content.”
