Looking at Documents
HELP

All documents in the Knowledge Centre have a standard layout. The top half of any screen will look like this:

Navigation within Documents

It is quite common to want to cross-reference and cross-navigate on topics from within documents. The easiest way to do this is by clicking on the Category, Vendor or Sector links within the documents e.g. from our document above

Clicking on "Strategy" or "Best Practice" will take you to the view of other documents in these categoies. Clicking on "eLearnity" will take you to a view of all documents related to Elearnity

Clicking on the word "Category" will take you to the general By Category view, and on the word "Vendor" will take you to the By Vendor view. And the equivalent actions would happen if "Sector" was displayed.

Note: All documetns have a Category but Vendor and Sector will only appear if these are tagged on the specific document you are viewing.

Finally, if there is only one vendor set for the document, it will also display an additional button to automatically link to more informmation about that vendor.

This button will not appear if there are multiple vendors, no vendor or the document is from Elearnity.

Non-text Content

Most of the content will be in an html text format and display directly. Larger documents including articles and reports, or mindmap analysis will be PDF format. If you do not have an Acrobat reader to view PDF files then go to this web address to download one:

Example of PDF content:

Document reference

At the bottom of each document is a unique reference number and also the name of the analyst who supplied the information. These two entries can be useful to you when you want to discuss an item in more detail with us, such as when discussing with an analyst.

Example of reference information:

Disclaimer

We obtain our information from the most reliable sources that we can, but please understand that we cannot be responsible for content obtained from third parties, or for your actions based on any content and hence it is important for you to understand the disclaimer statement, which is displayed at the end of the detail document.

Actions you can take from the Detail Screen

There are 4 main actions:

Search – described in the Search section
Close – exit from the document you are reading and go back
Comment – to create a comment on the document or feedback for review by Elearnity.c
Help – to access the online Help facility.

These action buttons are located in the centre at the top of the screen. If you wish to go back to the previous screen you may also use the ‘Back’ button on your browser.
